A big moment in history on the 24th July for Sea Palling Independent Lifeboat as we officially received the keys for our new Lifeboat now formally named Canon Portal. Generously funded by the Norfolk Masons and the Mark Benevolent Fund, the new boat, a Humber 6.3m Ocean Pro Rib with a 200HP Suzuki outboard will replace our current 5.8m rib “Lionheart” this summer. She is fully equipped with the latest Raymarine Radar, AIS, and FLIR heat seeking camera, and will be on show at our Lifeboat day on the 21st August. The official naming and handover was attended by Local Masons who had all helped with the raising of the funds.
