Summer’s almost here –
Wow, this year is certainly flying by! May brought with it International Volunteer Day, and it was inspiring to see social media pages from across the country celebrating the incredible contribution of volunteers from all walks of life.
As an independent lifeboat station, we’re entirely dependent on our own dedicated volunteers – from boat crew, launch vehicle drivers, and medics, to fundraisers and behind-the-scenes support. Quite simply, we couldn’t operate without you.
If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, maybe lending a hand with fundraising or admin, or offering your skills in another way, we’d love to chat. Just an hour or two a week can make a big difference.
Lifeboat Day – Save the Date: Sunday, 10th August
Our crew are now turning their focus to fundraising efforts for this year’s Lifeboat Day, and we’re excited to announce that The Newfoundland Search & Rescue Dogs will be joining us again! They were a huge hit last year, and we’re privileged to welcome them back.
Expect a fun-packed day with:
- Boat displays
- BBQ & cake stall 🍰
- Raffle
- Stalls from local makers and community groups
It’s a highlight of our year, and we hope you’ll come along and be part of it.
Want to get involved?
If you know someone – a local business, artist, or organisation – who’d like to host a stall on the beach, we’d love to hear from you. The more the merrier!
Please get in touch with Dave, our Station Manager, on 07774 804848 to chat about the opportunity.
We’re always grateful for donations of raffle prizes, baked goods, and other items to help make the day a success.
