Everyone brings their own attributes, be it a practical skill, organisational or a cross over with their professional lives. Not all crew are sea-going, we also require people with mechanical, radio, business, fundraising and marketing skills to ensure we are able to achieve successfully all-round as a charity and keep this vital service going.
Crew train twice a week; every Sunday morning 9am – 12.30pm and Thursday evening 7pm – 9pm. During these sessions crew train in areas such as navigation, search and rescue protocol both at sea and ashore and first aid as well as maintaining all equipment and the station. The crew regularly train with our flanking stations, HM Coastguard and local Lifeguards.
